<\/figure>\n\nThe papers presented at the DEI-organized workshop “Ancient Remains beneath the Church of the Redeemer and its Surroundings” (8\/9 September 2014) have now been published in a monograph by BAR Oxford under the title “The Archaeology and History of the Church of the Redeemer and the Muristan in Jerusalem”.<\/p>\n\n
In addition to the Church of the Redeemer and the archaeological park below it, the contributions by renowned Jerusalem researchers deal with other excavations on the grounds of the Muristan (excavations on the grounds of the Martin Luther School, St. John’s Church, Alexander Nevsky Church, Church of the Holy Sepulchre) as well as with the history of this part of the city from the Middle Ages to the visit of Kaiser Wilhelm II.<\/p>\n\n
