125 Years of DEI: An Overview of All Program Highlights

The DEI Jerusalem cordially invites you to its 125th anniversary celebration. In conjunction with the anniversary, from October 5 through 9, the DEI will host two archaeological conferences, field trips, and a garden party. Here you’ll find an overview of all program events. Registration is now open at 125.years.deiahl.de.

On October 5 and 6, the DEI invites archaeologists and anyone interested to attend the conference “New Archaeological Research in the Holy Land.” International researchers will present their latest findings from both sides of the Jordan River. There will be ample opportunity for discussion and academic exchange. DEI Director Dieter Vieweger will deliver the welcome address, followed by the opening remarks from the German ambassador. The first day of the conference will conclude with a gala reception for all guests.

Year after year, the DEI’s garden parties mark the start of the new academic year—and provide a rare opportunity for research, academic exchange, and new encounters to come together. On October 8, the DEI invites you to its garden party, featuring local specialties, drinks, and conversation without institutional boundaries. Katja Soennecken and Dieter Vieweger will also use the garden party as an opportunity to say goodbye to the DEI in Jerusalem.

Location: DEI grounds, Augusta Victoria Compound, Jerusalem

Doors open: 5:00 p.m.
